President
Christian Braemer

Christian Nielsen Braemer has been an active member of the board since 2004. He is a graduate of Copenhagen Business College with an emphasis in International Business and Economics. Christian is self-employed, recently starting an advertising and wireless internet company. His background includes working with 'wall street' firms such as Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley where he attained his series 7, 66, 31, and insurance designations. His previous professional background includes a leadership role in the Royal Danish Army, small business owner (restaurant), and 'top 5' performer as a project manager with a major national construction company. He is also a current board member of the Rebuild National Park Society as well as the Danish American Chamber of Commerce.

 

 

 

 

 

Vice President
Erik Mjoen

Erik. A. Mjoen has a dual Norwegian and American citizenship. Erik has spent considerable time in both Scandinavia and the U.S. He has a BA in International Business and Economics from Western Washington University. Erik is the vice president for the Swedish recruitment company, Cesab Executive Search. Erik operates the U.S. subsidiary in San Diego.

 

 

 

Treasurer
Ulf Sundberg

Ulf Sundberg has spent 6 years in the San Diego high tech industry, currently working at the R&D unit of Intuit. During his time at Ericsson Ulf spent 9 years in United Kingdom and 7 years in Japan with technical project and program management. His background includes training in the Stanford Advanced Project Management program. Ulf is a member of San Diego Software Industry Council SDSIC and has contacts with AeA Product Development Roundtable San Diego.

 

 

 

Secretary
Heli Rytkönen

Heli Rytkonen is an experienced leader in strategy and business process consulting, having worked with top management teams in both corporate as well as in not-for-profit settings. Currently, Ms. Rytkonen works with a California based manufacturing firm in strategic business opportunities and serves on the Board of Directors for Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce and as a President of Organization of Women in International Trade (OWIT) San Diego.

Ms. Rytkonen has an MBA in Strategic Management and B.Sc in International Business, with concentration in Finance. She has lived and travelled in Europe, North America, Africa, Middle East and Central America. Ms. Rytkonen speaks Finnish, English and Swedish and has exposure to Japanese and Swahili.

Jeffrey Parker

Jeffrey Parker’s background includes extensive international experience in corporate finance, private equity, mergers and acquisition, restructuring, operations and direct investments. Mr. Parker was previously the co-founder and Managing Partner at Stonewall Partners, LLC a boutique Investment banking firm specializing in cross Atlantic (Scandinavia) transactions and advisory work with in the Life Science and IT industries.  Prior to this Mr. Parker was the former Chairman, and co-founder of ATM Tix, a transactional software technology company within the ATM Banking processing software industry.  Prior to this Mr. Parker was the Chief Executive officer of Jarthan Holdings A/S, a Scandinavian based Investment Banking and advisory company where he was in charge of restructuring and corporate financing throughout the Nordic region.  Mr. Parker has held senior executive level positions in the following companies, VLSI Technology, Inc, where he was the Managing Director and CEO of the Far East operation; here he was instrumental in relocating all of AT&T consumer telephone manufacturing business to the Far East. Additional senior level positions were held in the following companies IXO Communications, Inc, Advanced Handicapping, Inc, Mattel Electronics, Ltd., Dancall A/S, and DataSpeed.  Mr. Parker is currently on the board of Mattix Investment Group, Ltd. Albugen Teknologies A/B, Swedish American Chamber of Commerce, Jarthan Holdings A/S. Mr. Parker hold a BA degree from CSUC, California.

Åke Persson

Ake Persson, a graduate of Uppsala University, has held a variety of executive positions within the Ericsson group. When retiring in 2004, Ake was the President of Ericsson Wireless Communications Inc. in San Diego and a member of the Ericsson Group Executive Management Team. Prior to that, he served as VP of Marketing and Sales for all of Ericsson's wireless systems activities. Ake has established and managed several new business lines and served on the board of several Ericsson companies around the world. Today, Ake is engaged with consulting activities and serves as a director on corporate boards. Ake is a member of the Council of Advisors of the Jacobs School of Engineering at UCSD, and is a member of the Chairmen's Round Table in San Diego.

Kirk Edwards

Former NCAA National Champion and Two-Time All American at the University level. Competed in professional tennis circuits world wide. Following life as a touring pro moved to NY and managed tennis clubs in the Summer resort area known as The Hampton's. Eventually moved home to San Diego and currently work as a full time investor.

Charlotte Rubin

Originally from Copenhagen in Denmark, Charlotte came to San Diego in 2000. Charlotte is the Managing Director and founding partner of Crux Communications. With over 12 years of global experience in public relations and communications – eight of which were in telecommunications – Charlotte has worked with fortune 500 companies and has expertise in all levels of communications disciplines.

Prior to establishing Crux Communications, Charlotte was a part of Ericsson Wireless Communications executive management team responsible for its global communications function. Charlotte began her career in Danish politics in 1989, as a member of the executive committee of the Danish European Movement and later worked three years for the Danish Conservative Party responsible for establishing campaign organizations and coordinating campaign strategies. Charlotte received her MBA in international marketing and management from Copenhagen Business School in Denmark in 1994.

Sandra Wellhausen

Sandra Wellhausen is an account executive at Katz & Associates in San Diego. She manages strategic communication and public affairs activities that support her clients’ objectives and goals. Her specialties include community relations and outreach, special events and media relations.
Prior to joining Katz & Associates, Sandra worked at the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, where she implemented award-winning communication campaigns and publications. She has extensive experience developing news releases, newsletters, marketing material and Web site copy.

Nils Olsson
 

Dr. Nils U. Olsson has over 20 years experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industries and academia in the US and in Sweden.  His industry background includes R&D, Regulatory Affairs and Quality Management at Élan Pharmaceuticals, Alliance Pharmaceutical Corp., KabiVitrum AB and Karlshamns LipidTeknik AB. Since 2002 he is Senior Director of Quality at Sangart, Inc., an innovative biotech located in San Diego, developing a hemoglobin-based blood substitute. Nils has also been involved with several start-ups and fund raising in the medical diagnosis, natural products and beverage industries.

Nils received his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Stockholm in 1991 and did a post-doc at The National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD, between 1994 and 1997. His primary areas of research have been lipid chemistry and analytical methods development. Nils is the author of over 30 scientific publications and several patents.

Bo Hedfors

Bo Hedfors is the founder of the telecom/internet consulting practice Hedfone Consulting, Inc, and is a veteran in the telecom business management and technology. Previously, Bo was Executive Vice President of Motorola and President of its global wireless infrastructure business based in Chicago. Prior to that, Mr. Hedfors spent 30 years in different management positions at Ericsson. Mr. Hedfors is a Chairman of Virtutech and a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences.

Dr. Ulf Brynjestad

Dr. Ulf Brynjestad is Consul for Sweden in San Diego and CEO of International Resource Center, a consulting company specializing in Life Sciences technology commercialization and marketing in international markets. He has a Ph.D in Operations Research, Long Range Strategic Planning and Large Scale Systems Optimization and also holds BS and MS degrees in Aero-space Engineering and Systems Management. Dr. Brynjestad is one of the founders of SACC SD/TJ.

Peter Mothander

Peter Mothander has a bachelor in Business Administration from the Stockholm University. Peter has an extensive experience from working in within the financial field for over 30 years. Peter is fluent in English, German, French and Swedish and has worked in the Scandinavian countries, Luxembourg, Belgium and the U.S, with financial consulting, venture capital, banking and teaching. Peter is currently the Group CEO at California-Siberia Systems Inc.
