Magnus

Magnus Gunnarsson    

Role at SACC: President
Industry/Expertise: Wireless Infrastructure, Venture back start-ups.
Background: Came to San Diego first time 2001 when Ericsson expanded the CDMA Business Unit and was responsible for taking the "Always Best Connected", Multi-Access, solution from concept to commercial launch. Since 2005 Magnus has been working with smaller startup companies in the Bay Area, Europe as well as San Diego.

Education: MBA in Finance and Strategy from University of Oregon.

Key interests: Enjoys downhill skiing and mountain biking when possible.

Mattias Luukkonen
Role at SACC: Vice President
Industry/Expertise: Legal services, Life science, Early-stage and venture backed companies.
Background: Came to San Diego in 1999 working as a scientist. After attending law school and clerking for a federal judge in San Diego, Mattias has been advising clients in the life science industry and also been counseling corporate clients.
Education: BS in micro biology from Lund University, MS in molecular biology from the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, PhD in molecular biology obtained at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory and J.D. summa cum laude from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, San Diego.
Key interests: Cooking and collecting wine, occasionally engages in primitive gardening activities using a golf club.

Rolf Brandes

Rolf Brandes
Role at SACC: Officer, Information, Communication & Technology
Industry/Expertise: Chemistry, Medicine, Biotechnology, Devices, Entrepreneurship.
Background: Dr. Brandes came to California for his 2nd parallel PhD at University of California, San Diego. After postdoctoral work at University of California, San Francisco, he researched as an Assistant Professor at Loyola University Medical School in Chicago. Rolf subsequently started to consult for the biotech industry and moved back to California to work with start-ups. He also founded his own small business, Tutek Inc. Rolf has several patents, several funded grants and more than 30 peer-reviewed publications.
Education: MS in Biomedical Engineering from Linköping University, a PhD in Biophysics from Stockholm University, and a 2nd PhD in Chemistry from University of California, San Diego.
Key interests: Life science, biotechnology, medical and other devices, computer science, entrepreneurship and investments.

Ulf Sundberg    
Role at SACC: Officer, Secretary
Industry/Expertise: High tech and Software Industry.
Background: Ulf has spent 9 years in the San Diego high tech industry, currently working at the R&D unit of Intuit. During hsi time at Ericsson Uld spent 9 years in United Kingdom and 7 years in Japan with technocal project and program management. Ulf is a member of san Diego Software Industry Council SDSIC and is on their Working Group for Web 3.0/Semantic Web.
Education: Electrical Engineering. Stanford Advanced Management Program.
Key intrests: Yoga, tennis, reading, arts, jazz and classical music.

Johan Carlsson
Role at SACC: Officer, Treasury
Industry/Expertise: Controlling, Retail, Operations
Background: First moved to San Diego in 2000 to attend school and play soccer. Moved home for a little more than a year and then came back and graduated in Business 2004 from Flagler College, St. Augustine, FL. Then moved back to San Diego and started working with IKEA in January 2005.
Education: BS in Business Administration from Flagler College.
Key intrests: Golf, outdoors, skiing, soccer.

Christian Braemer
Role at SACC: Ex Officio
Industry/Expertise: Project Management, Entrepreneurship, Investment banking
Background: Christian served as a Sergeant in the Royal Danish Army´s light infantry division. Upon completing his national service he returned to the U.S. and opened a fine dining restaurant. He subsequently sold the business and moved to LA to take a Project Management position with U.S. Home Systems and was then recruited to Morgan Stanley to become a Financial Advisor. Later, he moved to Merrill Lynch where he focused on corporate cash management and private equity investments. In 2006 Christian founded Joe Media. He has also served as President of SACC San Diego.
Education: Copenhagen Business School.

Tina Lindgren
Role at SACC: Director, Coordinator Marketing Committee
Industry/Expertise: Marketing, Building Industry.
Background: Tina has lived in California since 1996, and currently resides in the Pacific Beach area. Tina is a marketing and business development professional with X-nth, a consulting firm providing integrated services to the building industry. Tina served as Junior Chamber Marketing Manager for SACC San Diego in 2004.
Education: BS in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from San Diego State University.
Key interests: On her spare time she enjoys outdoor activities such as running and hiking.

Nils Olsson
Role at SACC: Director
Industry/Expertise: Life Science Industry.
Background: Dr. Olsson has over 20 years experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industries in the U.S. and in Sweden. His primary areas of research have been lipid chemistry and analytical methods development, and he is the author of over 30 scientific publications and several patents. Nils industry background includes R&D, Regulatory Affairs and Quality Management. Since 2002 he has been Senior Director and Vice President of Quality/Product Development at an innovative biotech, developing a hemoglobin-based blood substitute. Nils has also been involved with several start-ups and fund raising.
Education: PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Stockholm and a post doc fellowship at The National Institute of Health in Bethesda, MD.
Key interests: Protein and Pegylation technology, oxygen delivery to tissues, global regulatory affairs strategy, risk analysis, pharmaceutical quality by design.

Patrik Lundqvist
Role at SACC: Director, Coordinator Membership Committee
Industry/Expertise: Wireless Technologies, Product Management, Intrapreneurship.
Background: Worked at Ericsson in areas ranging from Radio Access Research, Global Standardization to Product Management at sites starting in Sweden 1989, Dallas 1994, Research Triangle Park 1998, and then San Diego 2000. Joined Qualcomm in 2006 in the office of the Chief Scientist working on taking new ideas from concept to technology transfer through rapid prototyping.
Education: MBA from Duke in North Carolina and MSEE from Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden.
Key interests: Enjoys variety of outdoor activities from hiking, diving, to skiing.

Egil Gronstad
Role at SACC: Director, Coordinator Operations Committee
Industry/Expertise: Telecom.
Background: Egil has over 20 years of exeprience in the telecom industry. He is currently Vice President of Technology Planning at Leap Wireless International Inc where he is responsible for overseeing and directing the Company´s technology planning function. Prior to joining Leap, Egil was Vice President of Product Line Management for Ericsson Wireless Communications Inc in San Diego. In this capacity, he was responsible for planning and life cycle management of Ericsson´s global CDMA2000 infrastructure solution offering.
Education: Egil is a graduate of University of california, Santa Barbara, where he recived his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.

Stefan Adolfsson
Role at SACC: Director
Industry/Expertise: Life Science Industry.
Background: Stefan graduated from Jonkoping Sweden in Mechanical Engineering. He has since worked with mechanical handling and automation in the automotive industry, oilfield exploration, packaging industry and life science. He currently works for Iverness Medical Innovations looking for future technologies in diagnostics, detection of bio markers and manufacturing.
Education: Jönköping University
Key intrests: Golf, sailing and horse racing (trotters).
